Emily focuses her practice on private equity financings, corporate governance, securities filings, regulatory compliance, and mergers & acquisitions, as well as general corporate law and commercial transactions. Previously, Emily spent several years as the first in-house counsel to two rapidly growing SaaS startups in the cannabis industry, and as part of a cannabis law firm’s Corporate, Securities, and Mergers & Acquisitions practice group. This body of experience allows Emily to bring a unique perspective on the challenges and needs of early stage companies.
Emily has been quoted in publications such as Forbes, and her speaking engagements include the Hispanic National Bar Association Corporate Counsel Conference, and the National Cannabis Bar Association Cannabis Law Institute.
Originally from Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Emily earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from William Smith College in Geneva, New York. Emily earned her Juris Doctor from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio.
